Masala Chai / Spiced Tea

I am not a fan of Tea or Coffee that much. I used to drink Tea in the childhood for some years and then switched to Milk :). I didnt like the taste of Tea that much and could tolerate only Elaichi tea (Cardamom Tea) with lots of milk... I happened to taste Masala Chai the other day and found that I could tolerate that one as well :) Besides there are several health benefits to the Masala chai due to the usage of various spices like cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves etc. So this one is for all the Tea Lovers :)

Ingredients:

3- 4 cloves
1 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
2 - 3 cardamom
1 thinly sliced ginger piece
1 cup water
1 cup Milk
Sugar
1/2 Tsp Tea Powder

Method of Preparation ( 10 - 15 min)

Step 1:

Boil 1 cup water in a saucepan. Add the clove, cinnamon, star anise, cardamom( I split them open and put the seeds as well as the cover) and ginger and let it boil.

Step 2:

Now add Tea leaves and let it boil in simmer mode.

Step 3:

Add 1 cup of milk and let it boil in simmer mode.

Step 4:

Once it boils, add sugar, mix well and switch off. (You can use honey instead of sugar)

Have it hot hot on a cold day.
